She was born and raised in Pennsylvania US she earned a bachelor's degree in political sciences from John Hopkins University. Jackson started her professional career in Maryland Delaware Connecticut and a couple of other cities that were broadcast by TV stations WBOC (affiliated with CBS). She later became a part of the Hearst Corporation, reporting to the 26 stations that operate from Washington DC. In the following year, she was transferred into NBC News and spent a year at NBC Los Angeles. She has also worked for other stations like WLVI TV, WHSV TV, WFSB TV WBRE TV as well as WNYW. She started her career with Fox News Channel, as reporter on general assignment in the year 2005. After two years she became an anchor for Fox Report Weekend. Julie Banderas, in her professional career to date has reported on a variety of important issues such as the hurricane Dennis as well as the disappearance of US student Natalee Holoway.
