Adele Mara..............Born Adelaide Delgado in 1925 Spanish-American Adele Mara was a singer/dancer with Xavier Cugat and His Orchestra in Detroit by the age of 15. Cugat dragged this beautiful brunette to New York. She was later signed by Columbia's talent scout in 1942. The year 1942 was the time she was featured as a hot leading lady in a number of boring B films, like Vengeance of the West starring Tex Ritter. Her transformation came a couple of years later to a hot platinum blonde pin-up after she joined Republic Studios. She was very busy at Republic Studios. Her roles were mostly Senoritas vying with cowboys Roy Rogers (1945), Gene Autry (1947) in Twilight on the Rio Grande, and Bells of Rosarita. Blackmail and Web of Danger were both crimes dramas in which she appeared in. Adventure films such as Wake of the Red Witch with John Wayne in 1948 and The Avengers in 1950 also offered her some entertainment. Angel in Exile and Sands of Iwo Jima were two of her best-known parts. The latter film starred Duke Wayne again. It was not often that she had the opportunity to show her acting skills, however her film career waned in the 1950s in the beginning. Her final film performance as a character in The Big Circus with Victor Mature (1959). Adele went on to TV and was featured in numerous guest commercials, mostly westerns. After marrying television mogul Roy Huggins (who produced many success shows, such as 77 Sunset Strip and Maverick) She eventually settled down with her husband and family. In a few of these her appearances, she'd be an actor. The couple had three kids. Huggins passed away in 2002.
